PANEL INSTALLATION TIPS:

Wall panels may be cut using a table saw. To apply on the wall use a nail gun with 1 3/4 in. brad nails. Simply use 1/4" spacing between each panel, then use our special grout applied with a caulking gun to fill in these spaces end corners may be butted or mitred depending on application. Use this same procedure over a 1/2" plywood base for building shelves. For wall units use a plywood base for the foundation to nail on or you may simply go over a sheet rock build out.To add on a finished shelf edge use a chair rail moulding.

Easily install on sheet rock using nail gun and 1 1/4 in nail or brads. Using a screwdriver to help adjust and ends in or out from wall will help panel ends match better. Make sure you cover any inside areas or side areas first then proceed to cover face areas. This allows you to use the finished edge the panel to be at the end. You may want to mitre these edges for certain applications. By using brads instead of screws allows easy replacement while installing, However use your judgment for screws when necessary.

CROWN MOULDING TIPS:

Our crown moulding is easily installed because our profiles allow you to simply place it flush to the ceiling. Cutting is also simple, you cut it as you would view it up on the ceiling, No coping is necessary. Once grouted the beauty is almost instantaneous because the moulding is already finished, No additional paint is necessary.

For large crowns you can either make a large mitre box or simply use a large triangle square to mark top of crown. First cut with a small circular saw to help keep lines straight then finish with a hand saw. Screw corner ends together using standard sheet rock screws about 2 1/2 in. long this will pull them tight. Screw slow and sink ends of screw so grout will cover, for corners if edges extend past each other just follow contour and cut them using a utility knife then grout edges. Crown molding is easily installed using a nail gun with 2 1/2 in. nails to wall and ceiling. Cutting adjoining pieces on a 45 degree angle will make joints disappear. Just fill over joint lines with grout and also grout at ceiling line and at bottom edge of crown to fill in seam line at wall, For concrete use TAP-CON screws.

SOLID PANEL OR BLOCK OVER BLOCK

When using solid type panels plan that wide areas be cut so each panel is even as in block over block application or as if you are doing brickwork with a staggered pattern. For block over block simply cut one half of one side to start with a half of a block. Cut panels as needed.

RANDOM PANEL DESIGN

Random panels need to be placed at random by turning and rotating each panel to achieve a random design use your eye judgment for placement remembering not to place the same panels next to each other or adjoining grout lines. Try to plan where your finished edge will be when you finished. On a wall sometimes working from the end to the middle helps. Cut panels as necessary to allow the ends to be finished.

BEVEL EDGE PANEL DESIGN

Follow above...This panel may also be cut to create a diamond shape pattern when placed at an angle.

CUTTING: USE REGULAR SAW AND SAFETY PROCEDURES AND ALWAYS WEAR SAFELY GLASSES

A table saw will make easy cuts for panel installation when using a table saw use caution as kickback can occur. We recommend that you press firmly to hold piece in place as you move through the saw blade. Hold down pressing on the material firmly on the side between the blade and the guide and continue cutting through and allow the end to completely pass the blade. Small cuts are better done with a chop saw or jig saw. Use standard chop saw methods for chair-rails.

CHAIR - RAIL FRAMING

Cut with any standard methods and screw them in or use 2 1/2 in. finish nails with a nail gun. Grout over screw heads and ant mitre joints. For strength always screw corner ends together using regular drywall screws. For around door frames grout around outside edge to wall and along inside door edge also.

COLUMN TIPS

For column installation fasten or hold cap to ceiling, Next put base on floor and measure for column height between them and cut shaft. Screw column to top and base using drywall screws. Grout around cap, base and any seams or screws. If you assemble column, Screw up and down the shaft seam while holding seams in tight. After screwing tight grout seams and any screw heads that show. Keep screws to 2 1/2 in. and follow the line down the shaft. If possible screw or nail base and cap to secure. For wrap around column poles or 4 x 4's just cut into base and cap as necessary to allow for post to fit, Then screw together.

BUILDING TIP USING PANELS

From shelves on wall units panels are applied over 1/2 in. plywood, a 2 x 2 and another 1/2 ply will allow you to finish a shelf using a 3 1/2 in chair rail as a shelf edge. This measurement can also be a wall or table top. A5 in. baseboard can be cut to be a 3 in. baseboard. The piece left over can become an 2 in. edge or be use to trim another piece.

GROUTING PRODUCT

Our special mixed grout comes in a caulking tube and is easily applied with a standard caulking gun. Cut tip at 45 angle, Not to large to start... recut... if grout does not follow with some ease.
Use grout to cover all edges and fill in any gaps. All edges that touch another surface should be grouted and sealed. This grout will harden and seal these areas. Use a drop cloth to cover floor to avoid adhesion to the floor. For
joint areas between panels fill in the 1/4 in. joint with grout and use a chip brush with a tight cut end to brush along the grout to fill in these lines. Where crown meets panel during installation also grout where they meet filling in the thin line where they touch. All grout will match in color and blend to the product, Use water to wash hands or use latex gloves, Grout will stain clothing.

Plastic gloves will help keep you hands clean. You to always wipe access off and away.
Paper towels always can be used to wipe seams. Remember to follow lines that already exist and grout so they look similar depth also.
